Weather, Createing and a Question...

Oh, how I long for the warmth of a fire and some tea right now. Instead I sit here in front of the computer with an extra large bag of dark chocolate M&Ms.
It has been snowing/raining/hailing these last few days and it is freezing cold and just one of those kind of weeks that I should have been creating with my yummy fabrics and sewing machine which have been neglected for a long time now.

I did do a little bit of creating this weekend but no fabrics or machine were involved...it was more of the use of the oven and my bowls and mixer. I didn't get a cool picture while I did this creating but I did get a picture of the finished product.

Yes, the baby shower cake was a huge hit. My perfectionist self saw flaws and things I could have done better but I was blessed by the compliments and excitement. A quote "The cake has BOOBS!!!" I did have fun creating the cake and would do it again! Reminder to self: add cake decorating supplies to my wishlist!

I wonder what this snow and cold are going to do to the trees and plants that are already in bloom around here? My daffodils seemed to have frozen in time.

I have a question....

Any ideas on what I could do with this vintage fabric I have?

I think I have 2-3 yards and I really can't seem to figure this one out. I'm not that great at feeling a fabric and telling you what kind it is. This seems to have a linen/woven texture.

Ok, I put the M&Ms down and now I will go and get something done around here...don't know what it will be but I have a list and some energy so I think I need to take advantage of it.

Show and Tell

Thought I would do a little show and tell today.

These are a few things I have done with my hands.

pencil and ink tall ship drawing I did on canvas in 2004

This is an ancher I painted on a wooden oar also done in 2004

A wooden anchor that needed some t.l.c

so new paint job and some awesome nautical stars were a must. 2004

This is a poster size pencil drawing I did in high school 1992/1993

Where Did This Month GO!?!

I just realized today that March is almost over with and I haven't even looked at my fabrics or sewing machine!! So much for doing what I said I was going to do. Arrgh!!!

Don't get my wrong my creative juices have been flowing just haven't made it out of my head yet. It is also easier to do things when my fingers aren't frozen and when my children are being total angels. hahahaha that doesn't happen to often.

It has been gloomy, wet and cold around here this week and it is Spring Break for everyone!

So I will go and try to do the things I have told myself I would do. I will leave you with a photo though to hopefully brighten your day if you too are gloomy.

I'm an Auntie For The Fifth Time!!!

Grace Elizabeth was born Easter night!!

And she is so beautiful!!!

I can't wait to snuggle her. It sucks living far from my family.

Hope to go visit them soon!

I am inspired by her sweet little face. Must go be creative!

Morning.

This last week was a busy week.

The retreat was rejuvenating and I even came home with a new hair style! A whole new me.

My middle man (6yrs) and I celebrated our Birthdays together on Wednesday and were blessed by our friends and family with special gifts and a really sweet time.

So all in all it seemed a busy week but a good week.

I have things I really need to do and get in order today before my husband gets home.

Our bedroom is not inviting and I really want to get things cleaned up and in order in there so that we can enjoy the room. If I had one of those TV groups come out and if we owned the house I would totally push out the wall and add french doors and a private deck!

But I don't and can't so I will make due with what I have.

Still have a bunch to do before May!

Ok off to make breakfast and start my day.

Afternoon.

Still not a whole lot going on around here. Kind of boring.

Been enjoying the warm sunshine when it shows it's self.

Cleaning around the house mostly because I can't seem to keep up with it anymore.

Frustrating really.

Aparrently I am having a poem I wrote published.

It isn't a happy poem and has nothing to do with me for those who know me.

It is a women dealing with abuse. I wrote it last year.

My goal these next few weeks is to get out my fabric and start sewing once again.

I just haven't been in the mood for it lately...I think I need to push myself

though and not let myself get in the way so that I can get things done in a timely manner.

I am so excited...I get to go to a retreat this weekend...

ALL BY MYSELF!!!

Busy busy this week!

Made taco meat and individual little meatloafs today. Smelled so good!

Now off to deal with the mountain of laundry that needs desperately to be folded.

Don't have much to say but thought I would stop by anyways.

Not much going on. Sewing is on the shelf and the sun is out in all it's glory.

Allergy season is apon us and it makes me sleepy.

Definately lost that hour they say you lose when you spring forward.

Right now I am loving my Tully's coffee and Choco Raspberry creamer!

I am hooked on it and can't get enough.

Have taken some more photos.

Need to get it off in emails to family and friends and post them in my flickr.

Life is life and it's moving along fast.

I will be 33 in a little over a week and my middle guy will be 6 next weekend!

We are going to have a party together because I will be gone on his actual Birthday. He thinks that is pretty special though because he is the only one that gets to do this.

I'm sitting here with a really bad headache and a whole lot to do.

I am wanting to sell everything so that I can add more inventory.

Not that I am doing anything right now...

things just haven't been working out for me to take the time to sew.

And being sick off and on the past month hasn't helped any either.

So I have set everything aside for now.

hitting the keys with my finger causes it to hurt so it must be bad.
