I have shoes!!!

And one of my friends got my calender in the mail yesterday so I got to see it...pretty nice. :)

Almost Finished with the Nursery Gifts

I got the blanket above finished last night and one curtain finished below. You are seeing the back side of the curtain...I had to add a piece of the other fabric for the curtain rod.

Then we have a table topper above for one of their tables in the room and the bumper is below...I think next time I am going to try something different for the bumper...but I already had a bumper pad so I used that this time. Still isn't quit finished I need to get some ribbon or cording for the ties and then it will be finished.
It hasn't been as bad as I thought...everything went really smoothly. The bumper was some what of a challenge but like I said next time I am going to try something else.

So things to do:

Finish bumper

Finish second curtain

Then get it in a gift bag/box

: D It feels so good to accomplish someting new : D

What is Going on Now

Putting together curtains, crib bumper, blanket and a few other things for my friend's nursery!!

This is their first and I am so blessed and honored to be able to do this for them.

I have almost everything cut out and will hopefully get the sewing machine going today...if I can get myself off this darn computer and get some things cleaned up first.

It is nice to have such happy fabric in my hands...makes the time go by faster.

I think I have only a few weeks to get it all done so off I go!

Looking at some of my favorite places online today.
The sky is full of clouds and there is a chill in the air...well it is only in the low 70's today, which in my book makes it perfect weather! But to be wearing a sweater in the middle of Summer is just wrong!

I gave in and ordered a couple yards of fabric this morning because I couldn't help myself. It is going to be used for a baby blanket and I think you are going to like it a lot!! I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. You know sometimes fabric just calls you and you have to respond. :)

There have been so many things that have inspired me (I might post some of my favorite things on here sometime) and I think I am getting ready to get some things done that I have put off for the last few months...Should probably get myself set up in our garage...we finally have some more room since having our yard sale this last weekend. Think I am going to take up a little space in the garage for all of my sewing stuff and machine so that I have a place to retreat to when I need to get things done. My husband shouldn't mind losing some of his music space. ;)
Still need to get rid of a love seat and dining room table. I will post on craig's list tomorrow.

Ok off to finish the last of the laundry and clean some more dishes, trying to stay on top of things, then I might start cutting on some fabric.

That my friends is not what you want to see when changing the brakes on a car!! This is a rotor that should have been replaced a long time ago. A rotor should be smooth for those who didn't know.

And this is what you get when you think your children are playing quietly in their rooms. They place a magnetix piece on a light bulb that has been on for a few hours!!

It did not come off of the light bulb so had to replace it.

Inspiration and Lack of Motivation

I am sitting here inspired by the things I have running through my head...So much I could do with the fabrics I have in view...Yet unmotivated to do it, not knowing where to start.
Could start another baby blanket I have it ready to go. Going to make my handbags larger because most people I have talked to are looking for those kinds of bags.
Have some other things...Just so much on my plate and in my head!!

Listening to my children singing the theme song to Handy Mandy...which I love way more then Bob the Builder!!
Needing to get off this darn brain sucker so that I can get things done around here.

Nothing like support of a family!

They Show No Fear

The kids got in the pool yesterday evening before bed. I have never seen them so relaxed in the water before. I don't know if it is the lack of water because the top doesn't stay blown up or if something in them just clicked. I do know that my little J was more confident because of her swimsuit being a floatation device.

The boys were jumping up into the air and doing cannon balls...

They sure did get high up off the ground!!

T was acting like he was diving...There is just no room for that in a pool that is 12' wide. But they seemed to manage it just fine and had a really good time.

A long fabric post!

It has been a cool day. A friend of mine wanted me to come over today and go through a bunch of fabric she had gotten from a family member. So this is almost everything I brought home. And the sweetness is I got it all for free! What a blessing!!!

Four bolts of fabric goodness.

LOVE plaid!!! These are wool...I think I already figured out what I want to do with them.

corduroy and velvety fabric!! I need to find an overall pattern...My little girl will look so cute in that pink cord!!

Some denim. That darker one on top is actually an unfinished long skirt.
This is an unfinished long trench type coat. I just love the green cord. Don't know what I will do with it...I don't think I will finish it though. The pattern is from 1991
More corduroy. It is the fine kind and is very soft...it is also only showing the wrong side of the fabric.

So gonna have a lot to think about and a lot of transforming to do. And because I got the fabric for free what ever I do make will be priced cheap!!

Blah Blah Blah

The weekend was a long one and really quite busy.
Lots of time with friends and family. Most of my photos really didn't turn out because I wasn't being patient with my camera.
My boys were accepted to Connections Academy and I can't believe the school year starts the end of next month!! My girl will be 5 in 12 days!!
Have a garage sale to make sure I am ready for. And really the way things are going it will be Christmas the moment I blink my eyes.

Do you ever feel like something has been missed?

We have had perfect weather...yet I wonder if we will get tons of snow this winter...we are about due for a good storm.

Will what's going on in the world around us ever get any better. No one in government seems to actually do what they say they are going to do...it doesn't matter if they are Reps or Dems...if they aren't going to do something about all the crap that is going on then they should keep their mouths shut and quit digging themselves in ditches. History just keeps repeating it's self over and over again...it's getting old people.
Just my two cents don't really need any comments on that one. ;)

I am almost finished with the baby blanket...I worked on it a little bit the last few days. Sorry it has taken so long. I have also decided that I need to make my handbags larger....I might have already mentioned this but that is what I am thinking about right now. Will work on it when I feel like it...Things might be put on hold once school starts because I am going to have to figure out how to juggle everything. I am thinking there will be some late nights ahead.

Think I am going to get into some cooler clothes and head outside to see what I can do with our pathetic swimming pool...the top of it is shot and the water is starting to turn...pumps not a very good one either.
