PhotoHunt: Beautiful

: Beautiful

Nothing is more beautiful then a baby and their precious little feet. These are my nephews little tootsies and I have to say they are the cutest thing ever!!

I probably could have used the top one here for my last photohunt post (wrinkles)

Below is another beautiful picture of my husband's love for me. He filled our get away place with rose petals for our 10 year Anniversary!

School Photos

I took the kids photos for the school year, actually just a few minutes ago.
So here we go...For the 2008-2009 school year may I represent my 3rd grader, 1st grader and my little Kindergartner!!
Looking at these...I can't believe how much they have grown!!

School, Ice Popsicles and The Vanity

Started school with the kids yesterday...today was the official day of their starting but we are going to be busy on Friday so I wanted to get ahead. So today and tomorrows work is done all except for Jonas' art class work.

We aren't starting out so good, physically that is, my middle guy is sick and I have come down with something also and have a really bad headache. The boys did really good for their first two days and I am really proud of them!
Here is my middle guy doing his art work:
And my oldest reading his Language Arts book:
The photos below are what the kids made in the Popsicle trays we just got from a friend. I guess it is better then juice full of sugar. ;) They were so excited and ate them within minutes.

And this is the before photo of the $1.99 vanity I found at Good Will!! I think I am just going to prime and paint it and then touch up the handles and call it done. Nothing fancy there but it will look clean and fresh. My mother-in-law even gave me an old mirror the other day that will look great on the wall above the vanity. I will paint it to match the vanity. "After" photos will be taken after I get this all done...Don't hold your breath. ;)

I Scored Big Time Today!!!

I don't have any photos yet but on my outing to the Dollar Store and Big Lots I decided to stop in at the Good Will. And let me tell you I am SO glad I did!!!

For $3.98 I got an old vanity w/o a mirror and two chairs!!!!!!!!
Need to do some priming and painting on the vanity, but that is nothing when it only cost $1.99.
Nothing is wrong with it either...I don't remember what the original price was but I think they slashed it so low because they weren't selling it and because someone had spray painted it silver.
I will get a before and after photo of it later.

I love accomplishing things! :D
It has been a pretty good day...Hope yours was too.

PhotoHunt: Wrinkled

: Wrinkled Please do not copy this. It does have a copy right. Thanks.

That is what you get when the Elephant doesn't want to cooperate with the photographer but I have to say that I don't think I could have gotten a better one.

Accomplished...

So Wednesday got a new toilet seat! This time I got the one with the medal hinges...that should last for a long time.
Also headed out to IKEA yesterday with my oldest and we found the perfect mattress for him and just enjoyed being able to walk around and see everything with out all the crowds of people! It was so nice. I was a little disappointed because I didn't see the matchstick blinds that I need to finish my windows in the kitchen...I think it might have been that way so that I wouldn't buy them and spend more money that I didn't have. ;)
So I feel like I have accomplished a lot in the last few days. Thank you Elinore for the sweet comment! It is always such an encouragement when I read your comments. :)
Now I just need to get some deep cleaning done through out the house so that I won't have that on my plate when we start school up again next week.

It's cold out yet the kids are out in the pool...I don't know if we should take it down yet...I honestly don't think we are going to have another triple digit day or even a 90 + day again. Looks like the low 80's and 70's are here to stay. The pool is pretty much shot anyways and needs to find a new home, unfortunately at the dump.

Ok I really need to go get myself motivated to start cleaning...I don't even know where to start!

I Need to be Inspired...

You every have one of those days where you feel like being creative but just can't get motivated to do anything about it...I feel that way today.
Did my work out this morning and have been veggin' out the rest of the time when I should be getting my creative juices flowing and get some things done with my fabric and the ideas I have in my head.
I really need to find a toilet seat and lid...my daughter brought me the lid this morning because for some odd reason it decided to break off...I still don't know what she/they were doing to break the lid of the toilet off. The towel rod fell off the wall again also...My thoughts is they were trying to see if our neighbor was out working on his dump truck...yes...a dump truck!!! The kids love it.

Yesterday I hung out at the IKEA website...I think I know what furniture I want to get!!! I think I really like the black...I don't know I could change my mind...and it really doesn't matter because we don't have any money to buy them anyways and if I did change my mind I could buy new covers!! Oh how I love IKEA!!!I figured I could add colored pillows if I wanted to and then add color in my decor! I have sat/layed on one of these couches at IKEA and it passes the comfort and relaxation test!!! I LOVE IT!!

Got some of my photography printed yesterday...They should get here in about a week or so. I am thinking that I need to get some more printed out and in different sizes so that I can sell them maybe through my etsy shop. Also really feel the need to start painting again. Man, I love art in all forms and wish I could have my hand in all of it, but I would need a whole lot of money and another house to fit it all in. A building would be nice to paint on... I think I need to go sew some things before I get distracted with something else.

Have a wonderful Wednesday and a great rest of the week!!

Crazy Zoo

Yesterday we headed out to the Zoo. It was $2.00 Tuesday! And thank goodness we got there early because it ended up being the busiest day I have every seen there. There were so many school buses full of kids and so many other people by the time we got half way through everything. When we left and were heading out of the parking lot they were actually sending people away because the park was full...There were MILES and MILES of cars just waiting to get into the Zoo. That is why you go early around here, or wait till the Fall/Winter season begins.
Sadly enough this is the only lion they have in the Zoo.

They have a whole area for farm animals wild and domestic. It even looks like a real farm... I decided that this was going to be my dream home and garden someday! So calming and beautiful! Look! The squash is growing!!
The exotic birds near the Giraffe were building their nests all over the place. Sorry didn't catch the name of them...there were many and I didn't read the signs...to many people in the way.

My all time favorite is the Rain Forest/African exhibit!! I used to spend tons of time just sitting in the small rain forest building they have set up with crocs and large lizards. The photo above was taken just outside. The misty rain happens every so many minutes. Only one of the kids is mine...I just thought this photo looked haunting and so very cool.

Our other favorite is the Elephants...this is one of the exhibit rooms they had. I would have gotten more photos of the animals themselves but some of the photos didn't turn out because I was shaky and the other reason is that there weren't many animals out and about. I do have to say that Tacoma's Zoo up in Washington is so much better in so many ways...but this will do and hopefully they will be finished with all the construction soon.

PhotoHunt: Clouds

: Clouds

We had a gorgeous storm a month or so ago on top of smoke from the California fires and this is what the sky looked like!! I used my sunset setting on my camera so this is the real deal!!

I love the sky...Have you ever looked up at the sky as if it were for the very first time? You feel so small yet so free! I don't think we look at it as often as we could. I think we should all go out and find a piece of grass and lay down and watch the clouds go by!! It makes you feel so much better, and all the gloom seems to go away. :)

Have a beautiful day!!

This is another of my favorites!!! I know it isn't clouds but the sky behind the tree is perfect!!! I didn't do anything to this photo that is the true color of the sky!!!
