Crazy Zoo

Yesterday we headed out to the Zoo. It was $2.00 Tuesday! And thank goodness we got there early because it ended up being the busiest day I have every seen there. There were so many school buses full of kids and so many other people by the time we got half way through everything. When we left and were heading out of the parking lot they were actually sending people away because the park was full...There were MILES and MILES of cars just waiting to get into the Zoo. That is why you go early around here, or wait till the Fall/Winter season begins.
Sadly enough this is the only lion they have in the Zoo.

They have a whole area for farm animals wild and domestic. It even looks like a real farm... I decided that this was going to be my dream home and garden someday! So calming and beautiful! Look! The squash is growing!!
The exotic birds near the Giraffe were building their nests all over the place. Sorry didn't catch the name of them...there were many and I didn't read the signs...to many people in the way.

My all time favorite is the Rain Forest/African exhibit!! I used to spend tons of time just sitting in the small rain forest building they have set up with crocs and large lizards. The photo above was taken just outside. The misty rain happens every so many minutes. Only one of the kids is mine...I just thought this photo looked haunting and so very cool.

Our other favorite is the Elephants...this is one of the exhibit rooms they had. I would have gotten more photos of the animals themselves but some of the photos didn't turn out because I was shaky and the other reason is that there weren't many animals out and about. I do have to say that Tacoma's Zoo up in Washington is so much better in so many ways...but this will do and hopefully they will be finished with all the construction soon.

Wow, it looks like you all had so much fun at the zoo!! Your zoo sounds better than the one we visited in Rhode Island last month. I can't believe how crowded it was...I guess all the summer camps are trying to get in their last minute trips. That's why I love Sept./Oct. because you don't get those big crowds. Glad you had fun though!!

Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog. I always appreciate your visits and consider you a good bloggie friend. = )

Have a super day!
