Ok so we have library cards now.
Any good Authors or Books out there that we should read?
I'm book challenged.

They Used to Be So Little...

My little super heroes

Yup all full of character these three.
Off to apparently kill a spider now.
Have a great rest of the week and weekend.

Got out of that slump quickly...

Tried to get the tired children to lay down and fall asleep but that never happened. But I did put my self in a hot shower and got dressed and turned on some worship music and now I am feeling a lot better...I hate mood swings.

Yesterday we spent the day taking cans back to the store (we got some Taco Bell with the money) and then headed over to the library for some overdue library cards...I should have gotten them a while ago but wasn't ready to take it on. I figured it was time when I found the kids playing library the other day at the table...It was so nice and quiet!
Now we are legit and the kids will be able to find some new books, not that we don't have enough here at home to go through. ; )
Now to start writing down all the books that I have been interested in rea
ding so that I can go online and get them checked out.
I did get the book "Homeschool Your Child For Free" but the websites that I found interesting don't even exists any more or they cost money. That is frustrating...I wonder if the Author will ever write an updated version of the book with links that work.

I still love the Lifepacs but if we can't afford to get more of the curriculum I would like to have some other things easily available for as cheep or even free. I do have a few places. So it is just getting it all worked out. Glad we got our library cards that will help I just ne
ed to stretch my brain and be creative.

Can you believe that February is about here! Would really love to go see my parents soon. Hoping my mom will be able to come up here in March so we can spend some girl time together for my Birthday. Also gearing up for the women's retreat in March, which just happens to fall on my Birthday, last year it fell on Thomas' Birthday so we did a party together and had a sweet time with our friends and family. One packed living room. Some day maybe it will be warm enough that we can all be outside. Don't know what we will do this year...I think he might expect a party. You know once you start that is what has to happen every year. : )
I don't mind it has gotten easier for me each year to allow so many people in our home at once.

You know I am really loving the sunshine around here.
Unfortunately it does show all the dust laying around. ; )

Hit WithThe Lonely Bug

I know my life isn't as thrilling as most.
Sometimes I feel as though I have lost who I really am, everything has been set aside. No art classes taken, not a whole lot of outside activities going on, I stay at home and take care of my children...whom I do love dearly.
Yes, I/we have gotten out and done more in the last few years but still I feel that I have lost myself.
And sadly as I am typing now I feel ignored. Why this hits me so hard at times I don't know why.
I would and want to invite people over but what would we do?

We go to church activities through out the week, I hang out with a friend every so often, we have game night with a few of our friends, I am always around people when we are out...but still I feel alone. Sometimes it bites being an adult, "friendships" are so different from childhood. And some of those that I have had a good connection with and consider sweet friends live far away.

Ok I think I am probably feeling sorry for myself but it really hurts.

I'm going to go clean.

Etsy

I finally got all my bags (that I had here at home) in my etsy shop. And have decided that all the money from the sales will be going back into getting more yarn for the hats I am making for the rescue mission.
I am already up to hat number 12 and have really enjoyed making the hats! If I can make more then enough then I will be giving some to the children's hospital I think. We will see Lord only knows how far this will go.

Had snow this morning almost got an inch and then it finally stopped! Thank goodness!! It is pretty but I am done with the snow and cold...my daffodils are about two inches out of the ground and I don't know what this weather has done to them...hoping they still come up beautiful as always.

Kids aren't listening today...and are fighting...I know I shared a room with my brother for a really long time and it wasn't that bad...but my children need their own rooms!!!! I am about ready to turn the garage into a room, my husband would be so upset with me if I did that. : )
Anywho, should probably go get my day going...I can't believe it is already a quarter to noon.

Yup, a boring life I live. :)

It's Quiet Today

The boys have done their school work, we got a movie out of the way, lunch was served and now the kids are quietly reading/resting. My girl has claimed the love seat and is quietly laying down, I sure hope she falls asleep...she could use the nap. The older is reading to the younger but I don't know how long that will last before an argument rears it's ugly head.
They haven't been getting along very well. It doesn't help when you have a perfectionist and a bossy in the same room. They are definitely individuals.

Still crocheting of course! Up to 7 and one partial. I am now doing (099fisherman) it is a creamy color. It is the one on the top right. If you click the picture you should be able to see it larger.

And the yarn below will be wash cloths and maybe some potholders to give also and put in my etsy shop.

Ok off to get myself together...yup, still in my pj's.

Glad it is Thursday but wish it were Saturday.

Another One of Those Goodwill Moments

Again I was only going to go to the Post Office this morning to mail off a baby blanket (Sold one yesterday!! What an awesome blessing!) and again a small voice said go into Goodwill...this is the only time I go in is when something tells me I should.
And sure enough sitting there was a matching couch and love seat. And all the seats recline!!!
$74.95 total and they were mine.
I told my husband after I did this...
I said, "Hey honey I got you something that reclines today"
He says, "What really?!?"
I said, "Yup, and you can recline any where you want to."
He says, "What you got me a lawn chair!"
HAHAHAHAHA
Priceless!!!

He will like them. We have been sitting on Barbie's couch for a long time and it is time to have grown up furniture.

I also finished a few more hats in these two colors
The one on the right is my favorite so far.

Crocheting...

Ok after about three days of teaching myself how to follow directions and read a pattern I finally got going on the hats!! The one above modeled by my guy was the first. The pattern called for ear flaps but I didn't like them so I left them out. This might fit better on a smaller child but he did look awfully cute!
The second one my daughter is wear is from the same yarn but this time I left out one of the whole sections out and then added another two sections to make it a little bigger.
I am still deciding on where I am going to take all of the hats when I am done...Two choices are going through my head. Either a hospital or the rescue mission down town. We will see I have a whole lot of hats to go. I was also trying to figure out what I could do to keep this all going and I think I found my answer...I had also gotten some of that yarn that people make washcloths and potholders with...I am thinking if I make those and sell them then the money I make from those can go back into the materials for making the hats.
I am really excited about all of this and even though my hands hurt and my back is killing me once again, the sciatic nerve, ugh. I am glad I have started this adventure and I am hoping and praying that when people receive these hats that they will be truely blessed and have a better day.

Well off to eat some mint chocolates and croch some more. I am now doing a multi color called 234 pines...it is a wool ease worsted weight and is very soft to the touch. : )

January 14, 2009

love!

I just have to say I love my blog layout...It makes me happy when I look at it.
Thankful for the beautiful weather we have had since yesterday.
Teaching myself to follow directions when it comes to crocheting, not to shabby.
My oldest has become the paper airplane expert...there are paper airplanes of all kinds all over the house!
Don't know what we are going to do about getting new curriculum this year.
Ok back to the croch!!!
Have a beautiful day!

Two in One Day...

It finally came!!!
I haven't been excited about a package in a long time.
You can't really see the wool yarn in the background...they aren't all dark, there are some lighter colors and some multi colors in there...my sunshine finally went behind something.

Oh what sweet things you will become! So soft to the touch, you're going to make someone smile in the near future as much as you have made me. : )

This will do for now.

Alright it isn't as it was but I guess with a new year here some changes can take place.
I want to make my post section a little wider with out going into my side bar but haven't the patience to figure it out right now.

So I will move on now...

If I was quick enough I would have taken a photo of the four squirrels that were chasing each other across our fence earlier! The sunshine is out and everyone is at play. It is a woppin' 50.9 degrees out and all God's creatures are playing and making such beautiful music outside. I love it...the light makes me so much happier!
My man was home from work today, but not of his own free will. They just didn't need him...hoping and praying he can work the rest of the week though cause we have rent to pay on top of bills of course. I really hope his W2's show up really soon so that we can get taxes done before the end of February. I always like to get them done asap.

You know I am sitting here and it is so very quiet, husband off with his dad and our middle guy...they are helping some friends out with their plumbing problems, the oldest and his sister are in the other room...should probably check on them because they are so very quiet...
They were watching a movie in my room.

It's a pretty good day.
Beautiful Sunshine!

Beautiful moss on our tree!

Beautiful girl that can't stand still so that I can get a crisp photo of her and all her cuteness!
Just wanted to let you know that all of my shops are at the bottom of my blog. : ) If you have birthdays or anything that you need a gift for. : D Have a beautiful day!

January 12, 2009

Ughh some more...

So I found a really cool layout put it in and ended up not likeing how it was set up. So have to start from scratch again and am not thrilled at all.
Being moody isn't the best thing when you deside to change something. So things will look weird around here till I can get things back in order.
Have a good rest of the week, I'll be around.

: [

I think we need a photo...

Nothing like a blue sky and sunshine to brighten a day!
Life is beautiful!!

Rwanda!!! Really!!!?!!!

I got some really sweet news today! A wallet I had made last year was sold from my mom and dad's store...that isn't the sweet part...IT IS GOING TO A GIRL IN RWANDA as a precious gift!!! My mom also has one of her "bitty birds" going with the wallet!
Isn't that so cool! A child's heart will be blessed. What a huge encouragement to me. It doesn't matter about the money, I don't care about that. It is the fact that a child's day will be lightened with a smile.
I am just a person who loves to make things with her hands yet I have hand made items all over the world! Australia, U.K., Canada and many more places. A piece of my heart in all these places... I wonder what else I can do. Who knows what else could happen this year! I am excited and blessed. Still no yarn in the mail yet but I get more and more excited for the day to come so that I can start in on it. The Lord is good!

I am also excited to see what happens in my zazzle shop (you can get to my shop at bottom of page) sales have started to show up more and more. It isn't much but it's a start.

Well the sun is doing it's best to shine through the grey clouds that have moved in and I am truly grateful. It's Thursday which means Bible Study night!!! So excited to get back into it. Tonight will be hard for a few tonight because we are in Colossians 3: 18- 4:1 and the talk of submitting to one's husband. But I pray that ears would be open and that the message would be sweet to our hearts.

There is less whining about school work as the days have gone by but it is still there. It will get better and that makes me happy.

Off to make some lunch and maybe I should get out of my pj's...I can't help it they are comfy ; )
Have a blessed day my friends!

On This Cold Day

Getting the boy into the routine of doing his school work isn't working out so well today. He did his math work and now is in on his bed taking a nap, he has been really whiny this morning, Sometimes I wonder how well my kids sleep at night...I know that I have times where my sleeping is all off. Hopefully he will wake up in a better mood so that he can get the rest of his work done. (I was wrong, but he is still sitting down and doing it)

That book I had mentioned getting, "Have a New Kid By Friday How to change your child's Attitude, Behavior and Character in 5 days" By Dr. Kevin Leman
Is really good! Everything was spoken simply and was encouraging to me. I think this is more geared towards the older children and adults that have moved back in to their parent's home, but I did get a lot of helpful tips out of it...I also sat and read each day within about 3 or so hours and then read through his "A to Z Game Plans that really work" and need to reread the Epilogue that is called "Fun Day" that is when you start using all that you have learned through the chapters (days) I also found it very entertaining and funny in some sections.
I would recommend this book even if it is just to use as a refresher. I think I might look for his other book also, "Making Children Mind With Out Losing Yours".

Looks like I will be getting the yarn and needles I ordered in a week. Wish they were getting here sooner but I will try and contain myself. I am just so excited about this new adventure I will be doing this year!! I love giving to others when I am able and this is going to give me so much enjoyment!! I'm light hearted just thinking about it. Pray that all goes smoothly and that the Lord leads me in the direction He wants me to go and that the enemy will stay out of it. : )

Side Note...
Our power went out the other night and I got to use one of the gifts my hubby gave me for Christmas! A set of three candles, you can choose whether you want a red light or a green light and to work them all you have to do is blow on them and that is what turns them on or off!! isn't that the coolest things. They even smell good and have real wax!
He also got me this cool loose leaf tea pot!
All you do is add the loose leaf tea of your choice (I used the flowering tea) add your hot water let steep for as long as you choose then set the pot on top of your mug and the water pours into your cup! There is a filter on the bottom so no loose leaves in your cup!
He got all my gifts from http://www.thinkgeek.com/ He even got me a cool thermometer that sticks to the outside of the window and digitally gives you the proper temp.
Yup, we are in a heat wave ; )
Anyhow I'm not as gloomy as I was heading into this new year and I am trying to keep my eyes on what is important this year which is family and my relationship with the Lord. I am going to try and do the reading the bible in a year...missed a couple days and then had to make them up, it wasn't so bad...it was actually really good and I am already learning things that I hadn't learned the last time reading.
Do you think He might return this year!?! I think if the U.S. turns their back on Israel we are going to be in a whole lot of trouble.

Well hope everyone has a good day and rest of the week! Oh and my etsy shop is open for business again. I will being adding more items as soon as I get some of my bills paid down or off which ever comes first. : D You can find my shop on my blog here at the bottom.
