Good Day...To You

Things around here have taken a turn for the worst this

last week. The kids have been sick and apparently I couldn't fight it myself. Seems like a whole lot of people are catching this horrible bug. But there is light at the end of it and we can almost reach it with our fingertips.

Spring is in the air...I can feel it...the squirrels and birds playing in the rain prove it. It is nice to hear their beautiful music outside our windows once again.The daffodils don't seem to care if the weather keeps showing it's cold side...they are coming up as always during this time.

Sometimes I think these winter seasons will never have their end but the warm air always returns and things around us seem to go on as if they were never touched by the cold.

Sick Bug in Town

I was so sure that we were going to make it through winter without the visit of the sick bug...but it showed up this week. One kid down for the count yesterday...but I think I kicked it in the bud! I had a date last night with some girlfriends to see a movie...so before I left Mr. T didn't look very good and his cough had gotten worse through out the day...I asked if he was ok and he told me...
"I have a cough, and a headache and there is water coming out of my eyes."
So got the Tylenol out then was off...
Came home and went in to check him and he was burning up...it hurt my face...a little worried because a friend of ours son got sick and his temp hit 107.!! So took his temp and it was 102. I can handle that...gave him Advil and then did a alcohol leg rub (get the rubbing alcohol in your hands and rub it down his legs towards the feet and it pulls the fever from the head) It worked...this morning no fever. He is still coughing but no fever and I'm happy about that.
Now my OC is kicking in and this whole house is going to be disinfected by the end of the day!!
There is NO ROOM for a sick bug in this house!!

Baby sling...need to get the cover up finished now...it is in the same yummy fabric.
I sure hope she likes it...she did pick out the fabric.

Monday

Some what of a clean house in view.
Constant noise coming out of my children.
Sun trying to push through the clouds.
My nerves sitting on top of my skin.
Fabric waiting to be transformed into a baby sling and nursing cover up.
Kids outside...huuuu...

Today

Haven't been around here for a while. Spend most my time on Facebook
or with my face in a book. ;)

Woke up to snow falling on the ground but has quickly turned to rain...we got a cold week this week. Everyone is so ready for Spring and Summer to show up. But we can not hold our breath any longer.
School, what can I say about school, it is happening here and there...we have done a lot of reading and narrating of books and the actual work book work is getting done here and there. I am currently reading about Charlotte Mason...as I have probably mentioned in previous posts. I would love to just buy her books and the others to have on hand for future reference if needed.

Funny how our worlds get turned upside down for moments at a time...I am feeling all out of whack lately trying to figure out what I am doing and what I am going to do. I think I am feeling the need for some Spring cleaning...my world is all cluttered and it needs to be simplified...that is mostly regarding our home.
I think I need to take a whole day or maybe two to get everything deep cleaned and in order...
have some furniture pieces that should probably part with...Lots to do.

Well should go the kids have been watching a movie and I need to get them motivated to do something else.

Coffee seems to be my strong drink lately.
Kids are coming into a new chapter in their lives and I am not coping well with it.
Longing, Oh so longing for Spring and Summer to come.
Don't ever believe the groundhog or our states hedgehog at the zoo.
It felt like we lived in London this last week...it was constantly foggy and moist out. It would have been nicer if we had really been there...where we live isn't always beautiful. ; )

Looking into the Charlotte Mason method. So far it is really intriguing and I love her boldness when it came to schooling children.

I think we have a mole in our yard??? Not sure and have never seen hills in anyone else's yard...we have lived here over 5 years and have never had moles! I'm confused.

Need to clean my house...it is a disaster!!!
Mondays are my do nothing days but it seems to be over flowing into the days after.

Have had a few friends tell me I need to do something about my hormones...I feel loved...my husband says I am only normal a few days a month...Am I that bad!?! ; )
Just got something they better be happy...

Watched the Super Bowl yesterday even though we don't watch it during the season...unless the brother-in-law is around. It was a good game but the silence after was priceless...yes we were rooting for the Cards.

Got a new computer and now I don't know where the jack is to get my pictures off of my camera, there aren't a whole lot sadly enough...haven't been taking any photos lately.

I'm hungry so are the kids...gonna go eat now... : )
