Putting away the old and bringing in the new

Looks like the sewing machine and fabric will be laid to rest and the crocheting needles and yarn will be coming out. Yesterday I ordered a bunch of yarn that was on sale and a pack of crochet needles. There is a plan I just don't have all details right now. I am going to be looking at places and maybe some charities that need hats and blankets. Might even have a few in my etsy shop to hopefully help in future purchases needed to replenish that which has been used up.
I want to give and help those who are in need and making these hats and blankets might be a good start.

Our snow is as if it never were. We have had some major down pours of rain the last few days. But the sun is shining and the sky is blue with white fluffy clouds here and there. Hoping it will warm up more and that the snow will be done with until the end of next year. I am ready for Spring. : )

Just got the book "Have a New Kid by Friday" by Dr. Kevin Leman. We will see how well it goes.
Today isn't a very good day, lots of whining and complaining.

I am not ready for the new year...at least I am not excited to head into it, not knowing what the outcome will be from what we have done in 2008 to ourselves. My spirit is saddened by everything including Christmas, things just seem different and not just because of the lack of money (I'm used to not having money) and the snow storm that took power and the ability to get out of our homes for a week, but there is something more. I can't put my finger on it...the only thing I can do is make sure that I am living my life as I should, that my eyes are continually on the Lord and that my relationship is strong with Him. He is the only one that can give me contentment in this crazy world everything else won't be there in the end.
We must continue to encourage our brothers and sisters in love and with the Word. Because many will become discouraged and are discouraged at this time.
It is time to do away with material things. That sounds like something you would find in Ecclesiastes 3.
Verse 6 says, "A time to gain, A time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away."

2 Peter 3:9-14
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us,[a] not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
The Day of the Lord 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.[b] 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Be Steadfast 14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

That is true :) Do things for others to get your eyes off self. :D They sure don't teach that out here in the world.

Rain is nice as long as the sun is still shining.

You had me wondering for a minute if you were trying to get pregnant again...when you mentioned the "Have a New Kid by Friday" book. ha ha!!! I got it once you mentioned the whining part. If it works on your kids let me know, I'll send you mine for a few weeks. = )

LOVED what you wrote about getting rid of material things. I'm right there with you on that one. We have been getting rid of so much stuff because we'll eventually be moving (if the house ever sells). It feels so good to get rid of things...they truly DO weigh you down. Life without all that 'stuff' is so free feeling.

Thanks for sharing those great Bible verses.
Have a great week!

I'm a beginning crocher (is that a word?) myself. It is so relaxing!

Continue to encourage others and trust the Lord to encourage you. He will not disappoint!
